We had another appointment today... oh how I love seeing my little babies on camera!!! :-)
The doctor was very optimistic about me not needing to be on bedrest! We are still praying that I will be able to work through the end of the second semester (second week of January)... but we will be happy if I make it to Christmas before needing bedrest!!

A last pre-baby trip to Georgia
Ben and I decided to make a weekend trip to a GA Tech game before the doctor starts limiting my travel. After looking at the schedule for the fall, I decided it would be fun to go see Tech play Carolina.
We got to Atlanta an hour late only to find out that Delta lost our luggage... and of course, I would be wearing carolina blue! We stopped at Walmart to buy some overnight necessities and headed to the hotel... Of course, we couldn't resist making a few "baby purchases" since there was such a great selection of GATech gear.
When the luggage still hadn't arrived by Saturday morning, we took a walk to the Tech bookstore (where I got lots of looks in my Carolina blue) and bought me something new to wear!
Our luggage finally arrived about an hour before the game. We met up with some friends for the game, and enjoyed watching Carolina get beat! We were both drenched in sweat and needing a nap by the time the game ended. We both had forgotten how hot the southern sun can be (and oh, how we miss that!)
We hit up Walmart on Sunday for a few more Baby purchases before heading to the airport! It was a great weekend getaway and just what the two of us needed!

16 weeks 6 days!
Today we had our second appointment with the perinatologist. We both took off from work early and made the 45 min trek to Middletown to the doctor's office. Because of a mixup with the computer system, our appointment had been deleted and we ended up waiting about 30 minutes for an opening!!! It was definitely worth the wait.
We went into the ultrasound room and the tech asked whether we knew what we were having yet. We told her no but we were hoping that she could tell us. Within 30 seconds she said, It looks like 1 and 1. Ben said, yeah, we are having twins. She said, no, I mean it looks like one of each. See... and she proceeded to show us! :-)
This was by far our longest doctor's appointment to date. The ultrasound tech proceeded to measure arms, legs, heart, lungs, bladder, head, brain, hands and feet, etc. for each of our beautiful babies. We spent almost an hour watching her work! Our little boy proceeded to spend an hour kicking his sister, while his sister stayed all curled up in a little ball, snug and cozy looking. When she finished the measurements for each baby, the computer calculated the ages, sizes, and lengths of each of the babies.
Baby A (our little boy!!!) is measuring 16wks4days, and is 6 oz, and 5.7 inches long. His heartbeat was 159BPM.
Baby B (our little girl!!!) is measuring 17wks2days, and is 6 oz, and 6.3 inches long. Her heartbeat was 145BPM.
When the ultrasound tech finished with all of her measurements the specialist came in and took a look for herself. She said she was not concerned about the slight differences in the babies sizes (less than 8% and they dont worry unless it is 20% or more) and that everything looked good (No concerns about the need for bedrest!!!). We scheduled our Level 2 ultrasound for the end of the month. This will be an indepth ultrasound that they said would take twice as long as usual due to the indepth look at both babies anatomy!
As an added bonus, the ultrasound tech told me that I look small to be 17 weeks with twins... so Ben let me celebrate with a milkshake on the way home :)
