Ben and I went out for our sixth anniversary (which is today) last night. Beka is heading to spend a couple of days with Micah and Elizabeth so we thought we would go out to celebrate while she was still around to take care of the twins for us.
We headed down to the Palisades Mall late in the evening and had a quick dinner at Stir Crazy by the movie theater. We both really wanted to see What to Expect When you are Expecting. We sat over dinner and reminisced about the year before when we had our last IUI treatment on our fifth anniversary. That was the winner that got us these amazing blessings. What an amazing and life changing year this has been.
We both really enjoyed the movie and could relate to the situations that most of the couples had to deal with and will definitely be watching the movie again!

Just a quick post: Savannah finally slept through the night last night & to add more excitement to our lives, Josh has started rolling over. Once he gets going there is no stopping him. He flips from belly to back in no time at all!

Four Month Doctor's Appt
Today we had the twins four month doctors appointment (and shots.. yuck).
Beka was kind enough to watch the twins for a little while so that I could get a little sleep before meeting Ben at the doctor's at 9:30. I found parking at the hospital and realized I had forgotten my phone. Since I didn't know where Ben was or when he would arrive, I went ahead and loaded the kids into the stroller and headed in. We met with Dr. H for a LONG appointment. Our first appointment was at 9:40 and the second was at 10:20. We walked out of his office at 11am. We have really enjoyed having him as the twins doctor and like how direct and upfront he is!
Here are the twins stats from today:
Joshua is 25 inches long (39%ile for length)
He is 12 lbs 7.5 ounces (4th%ile for weight-but growing!)
Head measurement is 41 1/2
Savannah Grace is 26 inches long (we think this is an error... no way she is 90+%ile for length- they will double check next month)
She is 12 lbs 1/2 ounce (She is 10th%ile for weight)
Head measurement is 40 1/2
When we left the doctor's office we headed down the hall to immunizations. Since our doctor's appt had lasted so long Ben couldn't stick around to help with shots (so I braved them on my own again!). This time the babies were a little more active and one of the nurses helped by holding one of them for me while I waited for them to be ready to give them. It was after 11:30 when they finally were ready and called us in. Unlike last time the nurse said she couldn't give them the shots while they were in their carseats and she didn't feel comfortable doing them with their clothes on. So, I laid each of them on the table for her and held them while she stuck them each. I didn't cry but it was much more painful to watch this time since they both cried!
We spent our fifteen minutes waiting in the waiting room, where Savannah promptly fell asleep and Josh joined her on the way home. They slept for almost an hour and a half in their carseats (through a feeding time) and then Beka and I put them in their packnplays hoping they would wake up to eat... they finally were awake enough to eat at 3 and promptly cried themselves back to sleep :0(. They only woke long enough for dinner at 7:30 and we played with them for a bit before putting them to bed!
My thoughts on shots: **Everytime I see the needle going in I think it is so long that it is going to poke out their poor legs on the other side. AND I feel so sad when they sleep this much because I feel like I have just allowed the doctors to drug them.

My First Mother's day!
I had a wonderful first Mothers Day! For the first time I did not dread sitting in church and listening to the minister talk about motherhood. I looked forward to sharing in the wonderful blessing that God had given me!
Since Ben spent the weekend in Tennessee looking for a place to live... I enjoyed a couple of interrupted nights sleep on my own. Beka was kind enough to take the kids at seven each morning (when Josh normally wakes up) and let me get a little bit of extra sleep. When I woke up from my "nap" she brought me French toast and got some clothes for the twins to wear to church! I got to take a "long" shower and take my time getting ready to go.
Ben flew in during church and met us there... after church the five of us went to eat Thai in Cornwell. The restaurant there has outdoor seating and we were able to enjoy our meal without worrying about the twins bothering anyone.
I came home to flowers and a card from my sweet babies (signed by them too!) and Ben and I spent the afternoon looking through pictures and information he had gathered in TN and ended the night by making an offer on a house there.

Four Months Old!!!
The twins are four months old and Rebekah and I had a great day with them.
Aunt Beka took pictures of them while I tried to make them smile and laugh!
Here are a few of the pictures we took:
Josh holding his head high while sitting in the bumbo seat!
Savannah Grace relaxing against the arm of the bumbo!

Savannah Rolls Over :-)
After weeks of trying to roll over and swinging her little bottom back and forth, Savannah finally rolled from her back to her belly today.
Beka laid her on the floor and just a few minutes later, we both looked up to watch her flip over. :-) Had a proud little mommy moment as I hollered at Ben in the other room to tell him what he missed :-).
** Josh is still sliding around on his belly like crazy... I have a feeling he will be the first to crawl!

Sleeping through the night!!!
So Joshua has slept through the night the past three nights!!! We have fed him and Savannah Grace and laid them down at 7 as usual and he has slept until 6 or 7 all three days (11 hour stretches- WOW). He wakes up starving, but otherwise seems to not realize he has slept much longer than usual :-)
Savannah Grace is a different story. She has been waking up around 1 or 2, we have changed her and laid her back down and then she wakes up at 4 or 5 to eat. I have been bringing her to bed when she wakes again and holding her and this has allowed me to get a few more hours sleep.
After that initial morning feeding both of them are staying awake a little bit longer each morning, and it is nice to play with them when they are all smiles from being well rested and well fed!
Have I mentioned how much I absolutely love being a mom? Here is the latest picture of my precious babes!
