After a couple of early morning wakeups at Ben's parents house this week, we decided to try moving the twins to the room adjoining ours. The tv room next to us only has one window and is easier to make darker, so we thought we would try letting them sleeping in there and seeing how things went.
Since we will be moving into the new house next week and putting them straight into their own room, we figured it might make a nice test run to have them in an adjoining room. Four days later, the twins have slept well, and I am adjusting to having them out of our room. I still run next door when I hear them cough and keep an eye on them through the video monitor to make sure they are okay, but I think that after five months, it is probably time for me to let them go a little bit!

Ben's First Father's Day
We celebrated our first Father's Day with the twins yesterday. The twins let us sleep until almost 8am before waking up and "talking" nonstop. Ben woke to the sounds of Savannah chatting in her pack-n-play right beside his head. We gave him his Father's Day cards and present and then Beka came and took the twins so we could get ready for church.
Beka and I had been working on a Father's Day gift for awhile and the week before she was finally able to get the perfect pictures for his gift. Here are some of the shots that she took of Josh and Savannah. We framed them for a special first Father's Day gift!

Another road trip! And the Big Move
So the week following our trip to NC was a whirlwind as we packed boxed and loaded the moving van for our move to TN. On Friday, Beka and I loaded up the twins and headed for Ohio. We close on our new house on June 25th, and are going to spend about ten days in Ohio with Ben's family before continuing on to Tennessee.
The twins were great on this trip. They slept for the first couple of hours and then woke up to eat/play. We got in to Ben's parents around 11pm to find out that Ben had not been able to get everything done that he needed to and wouldn't be leaving NY until Saturday. We unloaded the car and got the twins to bed (and I followed shortly after!).

Five Month Appointment!
So this morning we had the twins five month appointment (basically their last growth check before the move!).
Here are Joshua's stats:
6.18kg, 13lb10oz, 4%ile for weight
24 1/2 inches long, 12%ile for length
20%ile for head circumference
Savannah's stats:
6.04kg, 13lb5oz, 11%ile for weight
25 inches long, 9%ile for length
25%ile for head circumference
Josh has had a runny nose since we returned from NC as well, so I had the doctor check him out and see if there was anything I should be doing for him. She said his ears look clear right now, but that ear infections typically follow a cold by about a week so to keep an eye out. She check Savannah too and said she looks fine!
We got the nurses number in case we need a referral put through while traveling, but I researched some good things to do to avoid ear infections, and hopefully we will not be needing them!

Baby dedication- June 3, 2012
While we were in North Carolina we had the opportunity to have the twins dedicated at my home church by my home pastor Dr. Hedgepeth and my childhood minister Pastor McAtee. We met at Northwood Temple (9 years ago this month) and really wanted to have the dedication back where it all began. Here are some pictures from our special day.
After the service we had the opportunity to meet another twins mom, Ashley and her twin boys, Jacob and Nathan. We even got a few picture of the twins together!

North Carolina Trip
Ben and I had been wanting to get the babies dedicated for awhile. We really wanted to do the dedication at my home church in North Carolina (where we met), but we also thought it would be neat for Pastor McAtee (an old family friend who dedicated me as a baby and married my parents, and Ben and I) to be involved. Dad talked to Pastor Hedgepeth who agreed to have Pastor McAtee help him with the dedication and before we knew it we were heading to NC with the twins to have them dedicated last weekend. Ben was teaching summer school and needed to be back in NY quickly to load a moving truck, so Beka and I braved the trip with the twins on our own. We left last Friday about 8:30 in the morning and got in to my parents around 8pm. We made really good time... however, the twins didn't really sleep much during the ride and started to get a little fussy during the last few hours. Beka became a master of feeding them and burping them without taking them out of their carseats. We only stopped to take care of diaper changes and for food. It was nice to finally get to NC and my parents house!
On Saturday, Beka helped me shop for something to wear to the dedication and then we spent some time hanging out with family.
The dedication was on Sunday... (pictures of the dedication to follow) and then we had a get together at my parents house.
Some of the highlights of the week in NC were a trip to Raleigh to see my friend Shelby and her boys... and meeting up with my friend Heather and her family.
Our trip home ended up being a little more eventful (and longer) as we picked Ben up in Richmond and he road the remainder of the trip home with us. We got home to a house empty of furniture at about 10:30pm and had to find air mattresses and sheets to sleep on.
Here our some other pictures from our week:
